參考答案是where。但為什么不能選 when 呢？

此題選when和where都可以，但意思不同：

若關系副詞when，則它修飾的先行詞是Thursday。此時的句意為：

The 19-year-old will be appearing incourt on Thursday when she will face criminal charges. 這位19歲的少女將于周四出庭，到時她將面臨刑事指控。

若關系副詞where，則它修飾的先行詞是court。此時的句意為：

The 19-year-old will be appearing incourt on Thursday where she will face criminal charges. 這位19歲的少女將于周四出庭，在法庭上她將面臨刑事指控。

1. 若用where，where是關系副詞，引導定語從句，不宜理解為引導地點狀語從句，因為where引導地點狀語從句，它則表示主句謂語動詞發(fā)生的“地點”，本句顯然不是。（另外，where引導地點狀語從句時，表示“在……的地方）。
2. 若用when，where也是關系副詞，引導定語從句，其用法與下面一句差不多：
